Osaka University Convention Center is in
the Suita Campus of Osaka University.
Osaka university Convention Center was installed
for a purpose of what was used broadly as
a foothold of education research activities
such as a symposium, a lecture and a meeting
for the study in Osaka University, and as
an information dispatch base for areas such
as an open lecture or a round-table conference.

Arrival Information
Seoul to Kansai-International Airport
The most convenient route for ICNCB participants
from Seoul (in which ISI 2001 Meeting is
held) is to fly to the Kansai-International
Airport. Airlines in operation at Kansai
International Airport available to access
the Kansai-International Airport are mainly
as follows. Details are asked for each airline
company.
Kansai-International Airport to Osaka
Kansai International Airport, 50 km away
to the south of downtown Osaka, is connected
with major cities by various transportations.
The main terminals in the central area of
Osaka are Japan Railways (JR) "Osaka"
Station and "Umeda" Stations of
the subway and other railways, which are
near to each other and are connected by underground
arcades. ICNCB participants arriving at Kansai-International
Airport can get to the central area of Osaka
in the following routes.
- Airport Limousine bus
Take an airport limousine bound for "Osaka
Station", and get off at "Herbis
Osaka", or "Hotel New Hankyu"
(every 20-30 minutes, 65 minutes required,
\1,300).
- Japan Railway (JR)
Take "Airport Rapid Service"
trains,
which operate between Kansai-International
Airport and JR Kyobashi Station via Osaka
Station. (A part of trains operates between
Airport and Tennoji or JR Namba Station.)
Local rapid trains depart from Kansai-International
Airport about every 20 minutes, and take
approximately 65 minutes to get to JR "Osaka"
station (\1,160).
Another transportation is to take the Limited
Express "Haruka", which operate
between Kansai-International Airport and
Kyoto Station. Get off at Tennoji Station
or Nishi-Kujo Station (every 30 minutes,
52 minutes required, \2,820), and change
here to local trains in the direction of
Osaka Station.
- Nankai Electric Railways
Take the Limited Express "Rapi:t"
(meaning that is "fast" in Deutche)
or Airport Express, both of which operate
between Kansai-International Airport and
Namba Station (Rapi:t: every 30 minutes,
30 minutes required, regular fare \1,390;
Airport Express: every 20 minutes, 50 minutes
required, \890).
Kansai-International Airport to Senri Hankyu
Hotel
ICNCB participants arriving at Kansai-International Airport can get to your accommodation, Senri-Hankyu
Hotel, which is located at 5 minutes on foot
from Senri-Chuo Station, in the following
routes.
- Airport Limousine bus and Subway (via Umeda)
Take an airport limousine bound for "Osaka
Station" and get off at "Hotel
New Hankyu". From here walk about
5
minutes to the subway Umeda Station. Take
Subway Midosuji Line (through Kita-Osaka
Express Railway) in the direction of Senri-Chuo
Station (every 4-8 minutes, 19 minutes
required,
\350).
- Japan Railway (JR) and Subway (via Umeda)
Take "Airport Rapid Service"
of
JR and get off at JR "Osaka"
Station.
From here walk about 5 minutes to the subway
Umeda Station. Take Subway Midosuji Line
(through Kita-Osaka Express Railway) in
the
direction of Senri-Chuo Station (every
4-8
minutes, 19 minutes required, \350).
- Japan Railway (JR) and Subway (via Shin-Osaka)
Take the Limited Express "Haruka"
of JR. Trains departing from Kansai-International
Airport take approximately 45 minutes to
get to Shin-Osaka Station (Regular fare
\2,980,
Green Car fare \3,710). From here, transfer
to Subway Midosuji Line (through Kita-Osaka
Express Railway) and take in the direction
of Senri-Chuo Station (every 4-8 minutes,
15 minutes required, \320).
- Nankai Electric Railways and Subway (via
Namba)
Take the Limited Express "Rapi:t"
or Airport Express of Nankai Electric Railways
and get off at Namba Station. From here,
transfer to Subway Midosuji Line (through
Kita-Osaka Express Railway) and take in
the
direction of Senri-Chuo Station (every
4-8
minutes, 28 minutes required, \390).
- Airport Limousine Bus and Osaka Monorail
(via Osaka Airport)
Take an airport limousine bound for Osaka
(Itami) Airport (every 30 minutes, 80 minutes
required, \1,700). From here, transfer
to
Osaka Monorail in front of the Itami Airport,
and get off at Senri-Chuo Station (every
10 minutes (from August 25), 13 minutes
required,
\320). You can also take a taxi from Itami
Airport to Senri Hankyu Hotel (20 minutes
required, approx. \2,000).
Directions to Osaka University Convention
Center
Free Pick-up Bus From Senri Hankyu Hotel
During the conference, a free pick-up bus
that connects Senri Hankyu Hotel and the
conference venue (Osaka University Convention
Center) will be available. Participants are
recommended to get to Senri-Chuo Station,
walk about 5 minutes to Senri Hankyu Hotel,
and take the pick-up bus.

Public Transportation to the Conference Venue
Participants can mainly take Subway Midosuji
Line (through Kita-Osaka Express Railway)
and Osaka Monorail to Senri-Chuo Station,
and can take Hankyu Bus or taxi from Senri-Chuo
the conference venue.
- From Senri-Chuo Station (Kita-Osaka Express
and Osaka Monorail)
From here take Hankyu Bus bound for "Handai
Honbu-mae" (Osaka University Administration
Bureau) or "Ibaraki Mihogaoka"
(bus stop No. 6) and get off at "Handai
Honbu-mae" (every 10 minutes, about
20 minutes required, \210). It takes 5
minutes
on foot from the "Handai Honbu-mae"
bus stop to the conference venue. If using
public transportations, this route is most
strongly recommended for participants.
Another possibility is to take Osaka Monorail.
Take the train in the direction of Kadoma
Station, and change at Banpaku-Kinen-Koen
Station to the train bound for Handai-Byoin-Mae
Station (every 20 minutes from August 25,
15 minutes required, \280). It takes 10
minutes
on foot from Handai-Byoin-Mae Station to
the conference venue.
By taxi it takes about 15 minutes and about
\1,500 from Senri-Chuo Station to the conference
venue.
Access from Main Transportation Terminals
to Senri-Chuo Station
- From Shin-Osaka Station:
From here take Subway Midosuji Line (through
Kita-Osaka Express Railway) and get off
at
Senri-Chuo station (every 4-8 minutes,

- From JR Osaka (or Umeda) Station
From here take Subway Midosuji Line (through
Kita-Osaka Express Railway) and get off
at
Senri-Chuo station (every 4-8 minutes,

- From Osaka (Itami) Airport:
From here take Osaka Monorail and get off
at Senri-Chuo Station (every 10 minutes
from
August 25, 13 minutes required, \320).
By
taxi, it takes about 20 minutes and about
\3,500 from Itami Airport to Senri-Chuo.
It is faster to come directly to the conference
venue.
